Rev. Chuck Moon, Minister in Residence: Lead Minister and Head of Staff
chuckmoon@standrewsguelph.com
The Rev. Chuck Moon has been a Presbyterian minister since 2006. His ministry has taken him from British Columbia to Ontario, serving churches in a variety of communities. He spent 15 years serving Tolmie Memorial Presbyterian Church and Knox Presbyterian Church in Saugeen Shores, followed by five years at Guildwood Community Presbyterian Church in Scarborough. He also served as a hospital chaplain at Saugeen Memorial Hospital for three years.Chuck received his Master of Divinity from Vancouver School of Theology, as well as degrees in Leadership and Caregiving.
Chuck’s own journey of faith has been shaped by both loss and change. Losing his father at the age of twelve led him to ask difficult questions about life and God. In time, “Why?” became a more meaningful question: “How can I serve God today?” His experience of moving from Korea to Canada has also given him a deep appreciation for belonging, community, and our shared journey toward God.
Chuck enjoys learning, building relationships, and discovering new ways to serve God and others. He believes that God’s grace welcomes all of us, with both our strengths and imperfections.
Chuck and his wife, Soyoung, have been married since 2003 and are grateful for the journey God continues to share with them.
